What criteria judges if you are or are not a writer?
Would you say education? Commitment? Skill? Feedback? Success?
I'd only ace half of these. But I consider myself a writer. Why? Pure love and respect for the power of the word, how its placement and usage can totally convey, or fail to convey, one's thoughts, dreams, ideas, fears, and stories. BUT What one chooses to write tends to label him/her and some opinions seem to classify genre writers as 'non-literary' writers and therefore don't count. Fine. Then I'm not a writer. I'm a story teller.
Thoughts, people? Are you writers, storytellers, or just having fun?

I don't know if I would ever want to have a short story published I would not want it to be criticized
